Prenatal Pilates Classes at St. Joe Ann Arbor

Women’s Health Center

Thursdays @ 5:30pm
6 Week Series from May 24 – June 28

Keep the deep support muscles of the body strengthened during your pregnancy using the principles of Pilates. Learn how to exercise safely, prevent diastasis recti, relieve common pregnancy aches and pains, prepare your body for labor, delivery and cuddling your new baby.

Class will be taught by MOVE Pilates Trainer, Davy Darnton in the St. Joe Women’s Health Center from 5:30- 6:30PM beginning May 24.

Commenting on her desire to launch this new class, Davy noted:

“After the birth of my 9-pound baby my 5’0” body felt foreign and unstable. My abdominal muscles were weak, I had diastasis recti and I couldn’t find a dedicated postnatal fitness class to help me reconnect with my body. Even as an apprentice pilates teacher, I wasn’t always sure of what exercises were safe and smart for my body. Now that I have increased my understanding of pre/postnatal body needs through personal practice and study, I know what most mamas need – someone to create space for them to feel strong, safe and supported (because we’re navigating enough with a pregnancy/newborn!). Bringing MOVE’s prenatal classes to St. Joe will help take the guess work out of working out for those of us going through this transformative life stage — we all know we don’t need anymore guesses as we prepare for labor, birth and new motherhood!”

The series is $69 for six weeks or $14 drop-in. The Prenatal Pilates classes will be available to the wider community, although physician approval is required to attend classes. For more information, contact MOVE Wellness at (734) 761-2306 or office@movewellness.com
