MOVE Community Collaborations

One of MOVE Wellness Studios’ core values is community. Because our Ann Arbor community is so important to us, we are always seeking new ways to create meaningful connections and  make a positive impact in health and wellness.

Our emphasis on community is evident in our key partnerships and sponsorships listed below:

MOVE Wellness Studios is proud to be collaborating with St. Joseph Mercy hospitals in Ann Arbor and Livingston County to offer fitness classes to employees and the community. We offer a mix of classes and wellness workshops and special events to support the culture of wellness that exists within the St. Joseph Health System. All St. Joe, Probility and IHA employees can participate in the classes at no cost.
MOVE collaborates with Probility Physical Therapy to provide the MOVE Transition Program (MTP), a post-therapy fitness program for patients transitioning from formal therapy to a confident level of physical performance. MTP clients learn the principles of Pilates working with a trainer in private and small group private sessions and can also practice their home exercise program in our fully equipped space with support that will help progress efficiently, effectively and safely.
The soccer players of the AFC Ann Arbor get to do what they love day in and day out and we help them get ready for their next match or to recuperate from the previous one. MOVE is honored to be able to support the team as a Community Partner/Sponsor and we appreciate the spirit they’ve brought to our community – now it’s time for us to give back.
The MOVE Physician Wellness Program at the Michigan Medicine Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program is a year-long program that empowers Fellows to vision a fulfilling career in medicine and create healthy habits to support their well being.
MOVE Wellness is proud to sponsor the Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor’’s Breast Cancer Survivorship Class, provide ongoing Pilates classes in their facility and sponsor their Sprout Love initiative through their event, the Chelsea Wellness Fest.
Chelsea Wellness Center has contracted MOVE Wellness to offer Gyrokinesis classes for their members. Gyrokinesis uses the principles of yoga, dance, tai chi, and swimming, and is series of circular and fluid exercises that works the entire body through muscular, skeletal, and cardiovascular stimulation. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility and are appropriate for everyone.
MOVE participates with the American Heart Association by bringing clients and staff together for their annual Heart Walk. MOVE owner Elaine Economou served on their leadership team and had the opportunity to lead the warm up stretches for the 2018 Heart Walk.
MOVE provided fitness services and wellness coaching to A2SB in 2016.
MOVE Wellness Michigan Community Leaders AwardIn 2017, MOVE Wellness won the MichBusiness Community Leaders Award for our impact on the greater Ann Arbor area. We are very proud to serve our neighborhoods and make a lasting difference in our community’s health and wellness!
